Bitget Partners With UNICEF to Empower 1.1 Million Girls With Blockchain and Tech Skills

Crypto exchange Bitget has entered a three-year partnership with UNICEF Luxembourg to promote digital skills and blockchain literacy among youth, the companies announced on Monday. The collaboration positions Bitget within the Game Changers Coalition, a global initiative led by UNICEF’s Office of Innovation.

The partnership will support efforts to educate over 300,000 participants — including adolescent girls, teachers, mentors, and parents — across Armenia, Brazil, Cambodia, India, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Morocco, and South Africa. The broader coalition includes organizations such as the Global Video Game Coalition, Micron Foundation, and Women in Games, all working toward a common goal of empowering 1.1 million girls with tech and blockchain skills by 2027.

Backed by Blockchain4Her and Bitget Academy

Bitget’s $10 million Blockchain4Her initiative will underpin the project, focusing on boosting digital literacy and financial independence for women through funding, mentorship, and customized education programs. Bitget Academy, the company’s educational division, will help co-develop UNICEF’s first interactive blockchain training module. The course will use video game development to introduce blockchain concepts, blending virtual and real-world learning.

As part of the effort, Bitget also plans to introduce UNICEF to leading blockchain protocols and Web3 developers, who will contribute as mentors and partners. These experts are expected to help shape practical, real-world training experiences for young learners globally.

Bridging the Gender Digital Divide

Bitget CEO Gracy Chen emphasized the initiative’s focus on STEM education for adolescent girls, highlighting the global economic gap caused by unequal access to digital skills. She added that the curriculum will be scalable and rooted in real-world blockchain applications, designed to remain accessible and relevant for learners in low and middle-income countries.

According to UNICEF, the lack of digital skills among young women in these regions costs them an estimated $15 billion in economic opportunities annually.

With 90% of jobs today requiring digital competencies, Bitget and UNICEF’s collaboration aims to narrow the gender gap and prepare the next generation of women for a future shaped by blockchain and emerging technologies.
