Nasdaq-listed La Rosa Holdings is diving into cryptocurrency adoption, offering Bitcoin payment options for its 3,000+ U.S.-based real estate agents.
On December 23, La Rosa Holdings announced plans to enable cryptocurrency payments for its real estate network. Through its platform, La Rosa Realty, agents can manage property transactions, communicate with clients, and now, receive commissions in digital assets. This move marks a significant step in integrating blockchain technology into the real estate sector.
The company attributed this decision to rising demand for alternative payment methods. “This initiative may potentially create a new revenue stream for La Rosa, with the Company implementing a 2% fee for agents who choose to receive payments in cryptocurrency,” said Joe La Rosa, the company’s CEO.
Agents currently have two compensation options: a 100% commission plan or a revenue share model. With crypto payments, agents can further diversify their earning methods. Fees for agents start at $60, with transaction costs of $495 typically covered by clients.
La Rosa’s Strong Revenue Growth Fuels Expansion
La Rosa’s embrace of crypto comes during a period of impressive growth. The company reported a 155% increase in year-over-year revenue for the first nine months of 2024, reaching $51.7 million. The company aims to capitalize on its growth by modernizing payment options and appealing to a tech-savvy clientele.
La Rosa joins a growing list of companies integrating Bitcoin payments into their platforms. Retail giants like PayPal, Microsoft, Starbucks, and McDonald’s have already adopted cryptocurrency payment options. By 2030, the Bitcoin payment ecosystem — spanning miners, merchants, and consumers — is expected to reach a staggering $1.83 trillion valuation.
Beyond payment integration, publicly traded companies are ramping up their Bitcoin holdings as part of broader diversification strategies. La Rosa’s crypto adoption aligns with broader trends in the corporate world, reflecting Bitcoin’s growing role in modern financial ecosystems. As digital assets continue to gain mainstream acceptance, businesses across industries are racing to innovate and stay ahead in the rapidly evolving crypto landscape.
