On May 18, the company announced upgrades to Coinbase One, a membership account that offers zero trading fees, boosted staking rewards, and priority support. This subscription service, known as “Coinbase One,” is set to be launched in 35 countries. However, initially, it will only be available to customers in the United Kingdom, Germany, and Ireland.
According to an official statement, Coinbase One aims to provide exclusive features such as zero-fee trading, enhanced staking rewards, and special perks through partnerships with industry players like Messari and CoinTracker. Members can access these benefits by paying a monthly fee of $29.99. Additionally, Coinbase intends to collaborate with other partners, including Alto IRA, Blockworks’ Permissionless, and Lemonade, to offer additional advantages to its members.
Coinbase also mentioned that Coinbase One subscribers will enjoy the convenience of a dedicated 24/7 support team. Members can reach out for assistance via phone and receive prompt help with any technical account issues they may encounter. Furthermore, United States members will benefit from a pre-filled tax Form 8949, simplifying the process of filing cryptocurrency taxes by automatically organizing their transactions.
Coinbase Launches International Exchange
Coinbase made a significant move on May 2 by launching the Coinbase International Exchange, a dedicated institutional platform tailored for trading crypto derivatives. This strategic decision to expand its operations globally reflects Coinbase’s response to ongoing regulatory hurdles it has been encountering in the United States. However, despite this international expansion, CEO Brian Armstrong has reassured users that the company remains fully committed to the U.S. market.
